Greve in Chianti

Greve in Chianti has lots of Tuscan character and offers a host of opportunities for visitors. It is ideal for wine and food enthusiasts with its numerous wine bars, restaurants and speciality shops, such as the renowned Antica Macelleria Falorni in the main piazza.

The Romanelli Faure family, the staff at RISECCOLI as well as visitors to the estate consistently recommend the following places in and near Greve for the overall Tuscan experience they provide, as well as their excellent quality of service.

Hotel Villa Le Barone
An ancient manor house tastefully renovated that maintains the character of a private house with charm and discreet elegance.

Hotel Villa Sangiovese
The Hotel has been owned and managed since 1988 by Anne-Marie and Ulderico Bleuler-Staerkle, a Swiss couple. This is the ultimate in Swiss-style hospitality in Chianti.

Albergo Ristorante Giovanni da Verrazzano
This lovely restaurant with a large terrace overlooking the main piazza in Greve is a good place for soaking-up the local ambiance.

Enoteca Fuoripiazza
Although mainly a wine bar, the food there is consistently good and relies heavily on local ingredients (especially those from the nearby cheese and prosciutto makers). Very friendly service and competent staff.

Pizzeria La Cantina
Simply the best pizzas in Chianti!

Ristorante La Taverna del Guerrino
Marco and Idelia Niccolai are the owners of this delightful family restaurant set within the fortified walls of Montefioralle. Simple and totally genuine Tuscan food and great views are on offer there all year round.

Ristorante Ristoro di Lamole
This is way off the beaten track, but worth the effort getting there. Good wine list and lovely views.

Ristorante Il Vescovino
Good food, good wines and spectacular views. Certainly the best non-hotel restaurant in Panzano.

Ristorante Dario Cecchini – Officina della Bistecca
The bistecca fiorentina has found its home here and Dario Cecchini couldn't be a better host. Visit his iconic butcher shop while you are there.

Ristorante Il Borgo Antico
Truly lovely destination restaurant, where everything is homemade with care and tradition.

Le Cantine di Falorni
One of the most spectacular wine stores in Greve.

Casa Porciatti
