This is a "top cuvée" made in limited quantities and only in the best years, using select fruit from our own parcels. Having been partially aged in one-to two-year-old barriques, it shows depth of flavours and complexity in the aromas. The wine has an intense nose of black cherries and brambles, along with spicy vanilla. Balanced, rich fruit texture. Full-body, sumptuous and complex with its soft and sweet tannins getting even finer with age. This wine offers good keeping potential.
“Deep black cherry ruby with black reflections and cherry rim. The bouquet is bright, with cherry fruit supported by slightly jammy berry fruit acidity and by some sour bramble; the overall impression is airy. On the palate it's medium bodied, with fairly rich sour cherry fruit supported by smooth sweet tannins that flow into a clean rather sour tannic finish. Pleasant in a traditional key, and will drink nicely with stews or roasts. Worth seeking out if you like the style.” 2004 Vintage
