Our Piccolo Verdot bottling is a rarity for Tuscany in being a 100% varietal. The Petit Verdot grape tends to ripen late in the season and is particularly well-suited to one of the most sun-exposed slopes on the estate. The 2006 vintage was RISECCOLI's first release with this non-traditional mono-varietal. It is very dark ruby in colour with a complex nose. The palate is very fruity, rich and smooth with aromas of ripe berries and plums. Petit Verdot is recognised as a great ageing wine and ours should be no exception.
“Worth a place in the cellar... Elegant expression of this Bordeaux varietal.” 2006 Vintage

“The Petit Verdot 2006 makes it to the final selections [for the coveted “Tre Bicchieri” award in Italy] thanks to its spicy-meaty notes on the nose and opulent body, which is well-balanced with good acidity.” 2006 Vintage
